As someone who was a broadcaster from 1985 to 2013 and has been fascinated by the evolution of the polycrisis in that time (with big stops along the way at the anti-nuke movement, suburban sprawl, peak oil, global warming, climate change and now the polycrisis), this is one of the best interviews I have ever heard on the subject. Thank you, Rob, for conducting it, and Richard, for sharing your brilliant analysis. I hope everyone pays attention to this to gain a better understanding of what we are facing and to get them thinking about how they will live in a very different world very likely before the end of this decade.

It is very interesting to see how people from all over the world read Kadare and the different perspectives you have. What impressed me the most is that although many of you have a vast distance from how life used to be in Albania (or is for that matter), and have not experienced that sort of political oppression that Albania has, still relate to Kadare's work and bring, in many occasions, many observations which to us from Albania look very objective, straight to the point and for some reason they even seem new. This speaks to Kadare's power as writer but as well as your attention and thinking as readers. Thank you for this.

I just finished "A Fine Balance" and was incredibly affected by it. I became the fifth inhabitant of that special place and lived and died with the trials and tribulations of my friends in the book. It is an eye-opening story to say the least with sections that are very hard to endure; however, the trial is completely worth it. I would look forward to a movie if someone decided to really make it epic.
